This post originally appeared on the Maximum Apocalypse: the Video Game Kickstarter page and is reposted here so that fans can keep up to date with Rock Manor Games projects.
Mega Cat games sent out Steam Keys on Friday the 13th, so over the weekend you should have received your Beta key and have hopefully been able to activate it on Steam and download the game. If you’re new to Steam, here is an article about how to use your key to start playing the game. That brings me to a bunch of info about the closed beta that I want to reiterate from the Mega Cat team:
State of the Game (Beta)
The beta branch on Steam where your game is active will be updated automatically on our side. You can force an update on Steam by right clicking the title and selecting “Update” if you see a post and the game doesn’t automatically update on its own. After the beta is closed, you’ll receive retail keys separately with the final GOLD version of the game.
Please read the current State of the Game for the latest report on issues and bugs.
Please share your feedback of the beta with us by completing the following surveys:
- Maximum Apocalypse Beta Tester Screener
- To better sort our playtest data, we’ll ask a few questions about your gaming preferences.
- Interested in sending us a recording of your playtest so developers can see things happen “in real time”? Check out our How To Record Your Playtest with OBS tutorial!
- Maximum Apocalypse Beta Feedback Survey
- See our Playtester Feedback Quality Rubric on how to provide the best feedback for our developers.
- Answer a few questions about your experience!
Next Steps
This week, we are going to create a shared channel and connection between the Mega Cat Discord and Rock Manor Games Discord so that we can have all of our playtesters together. You Kickstarter backers got your keys first, but we will be adding additional focus groups and beta testers over the coming weeks.
If you have a beta key and want to join me, I’ll be playing and streaming this Friday September 20th at 1PM EST and then again on September 25th at 10PM EST. Hoping that we can get some online multiplayer games going so if you’re interested in joining my team during the stream, join our discord and reach out.
Customer Service
If you have not received your physical products, or are missing any digital keys at this point, please let us know. At this point, you should have received access to all of the digital products that you pledged for and received all your physical rewards. The only thing left for us to send out is a new “GOLD” steam key for the final build of the game when it releases later this year.
- Customer Service Requests should all go to our portal or email [email protected].
Please be patient with us on Customer Support issues. We can easily solve physical reward problems, but if you’re missing a Steam key or two, we’re going to have to work with the Mega Cat team to get those issued to you.
StarDriven: Gateway
On October 1st, our next big tabletop experience is launching. We’re really proud of it and hope that if you’re a board gamer, you’ll check it out as it’s the first new game collaboration between Todd Walsh and myself since we worked on the Set a Watch series. It has very different and unique mechanics and has been a big passion project for both of us. You can follow it on Gamefound.
That’s it for now, I look forward to playing with some of you on Steam over the next few weeks. Thanks so much for your trust and support. I hope we are exceeding your expectations with the game so far. All the best!
